What we learned building DealIQ OS that shaped Balance

Jun 3, 2026 · 7 min read · Jay Campbell

Before Balance, we built DealIQ OS. DealIQ listens silently to every sales call, extracts what the buyer actually confirmed versus what was just mentioned, and fills MEDDPICC fields in Salesforce or HubSpot from that evidence. Stage gates then stop weak deals before they cost you the quarter.

Three years of prompt engineering went into that extraction layer. It works. And the longer we ran it inside real revenue teams, the more we saw the same three things repeat:

  • The CRM is a symptom, not the disease. Even with perfect extraction, the shape of a deal is bigger than the fields on an opportunity record.
  • Relationships have two sides. Every promise the seller makes is matched by something the buyer said they would do. Neither side tracks this well.
  • The best sellers keep a private ledger of commitments. They just do it in a Notes app. That ledger is the actual state of the relationship.

What Balance is

Balance is the operating layer around that relationship. It surfaces the mutual commitments, tracks them on both sides, and holds sellers accountable for the promises they made. Not just the fields they filled in. It reads from the same call evidence DealIQ processes, and turns that evidence into a running picture of relationship health.

DealIQ OS enforces truth inside the deal. Balance keeps the relationship around the deal honest. Same thesis, different plane.

If you already saw DealIQ and wondered what we were building next: this is it.
